Aberdeen Preview

Adams scores at Pittodrie - another one on Saturday will do nicely!

But going to Pittodrie is always difficult and even though Aberdeen are struggling they cannot be underestimated. They have only won once at home in the league this season and are currently five points below us in eleventh position. Their confidence will have been given a boost by a convincing 5-0 mid-week win over Brechin City in the League Cup but Stevie Paterson's team will be under much more pressure at the weekend. They also have a few players returning after injury.

If we were to return south with all three points it would be a rare victory for us in the north east. However, we have already won at the traditional graveyard grounds of Easter Road and Tannadice this season so there should be nothing to fear at Pittodrie.

There are possible troubles with the team though. Alex Burns shows no signs of a return and striker David Clarkson may be tired after his work for the Scotland U19 side. He scored against the Faroe Islands on Saturday, played against Turkey on Monday night and scored again against Macedonia on Wednesday. Even if Clarkson starts, it is likely that Kenny Wright will need to be given a run out in the last part of the game to bring in some fresh legs.

Jason Dair has not started a game for us yet and it is unlikely he'll do so on Saturday but it would not be totally surprising if he is given a longer run off the bench.

There is also further speculation this week over the future of Stephen Pearson. So far he has done well to focus on his own game but he seems to have been infected by the dreaded Agent Abroad virus in recent weeks. The outcome is that he has turned down our generous offer and has made up his mind that he belongs elsewhere. Terry will have a tough decision to make when he selects the team. Should Pearo be picked? We remember the dip in form he showed when Leicester’s bid unsettled him.

This will be a tough game and it will not be pretty but we should be able to do enough to keep our good record going with a 1-1 draw.
