Nancy were in the UEFA Cup last season and progressed to the group stage after pulling off a shock 3-1 win over Schalke at home to go through 3-2 on aggregate.

A sight to see...
Aided by Feyenoord fans causing a group game to be abandoned, they finished second and lost narrowly to Shaktar Donetsk in the knock out round.

This year they reached the UEFA Cup by finishing fourth in the French league.

Their colours are red and white and they play in the Stade Marcel Picot which holds just over 20,000. This means Motherwell can expect at least 2,000 tickets for the tie which should more than satisfy demand.

Nancy is a city in the Lorraine region of France and has population of 410,000.

It is in the east of France, within touching distance of Luxembourg, Germany and Switzerland and is just over 300km from Paris.

The nearest airport is Metz-Nancy-Lorraine although this is not a major transport hub.
