Clarkson and Quinn in Action for U21s

Quinn played the full game but Clarkson was replaced by Darryl Duffy halfway through the second period.

This was the final game in preparation for the UEFA qualifiers at the end of August and early September against Slovenia and France. Our man Malpas let it be known earlier this week that those who choose not to be fully committed to the U21 squad risked any potential place in the ‘A' squad in future years.

The U19s are still involved in Belarus. They beat Bulgaria on Thursday with a late, late goal and are likely to face a crunch game against France at the weekend. Mark Reynolds from Motherwell is with the squad.

Meanwhile Stephen Craigan is likely to gain more international experience as he travels with the NI squad to face Uruguay and Romania at the spectacular venues of Giants Stadium and Soldier Field.
