Clarkson Signs Extension

It has to be admitted that David Clarkson has struggled a bit this season but it might just be that he is finding the weight on his shoulders hard to cope with. After all, he has been one of our main sources of goals over the last two seasons and he is still only 19!

Clarkson in form

Clarkson made his debut for us at Pittodrie in late 2002 and scored his first goal a few weeks later at Fir Park in a 2-2 draw with Thistle. Another couple of goals followed that season but it was last year when he began to make a name for himself. He found the net thirteen times and forced himself into the Scotland U21 squad - and scored for them as well.

The new deal will keep David at Fir Park until May 2008 but if he halts his poor form and fulfils even some of the potential he has, it is highly unlikely that he will be here that long. Let's hope he celebrates with a goal tomorrow!
