Cowdenbeath Preview

This is our first visit to Central Park since a Scottish Cup tie in 1976 and accordingly the ground collectors will no doubt be out in force. We have taken good crowds to Stirling and Stenny and another decent following will make the trek to Fife.

Skippy has three goals in two friendlies
Cowdenbeath have prepared for life in the Third Division this year with a handful of comfortable wins over non-league opposition and a 2-0 loss to Hibs. There are a couple of former Dossers in their employment, Innes Ritchie in the playing staff and Mickey Weir as assistant manager.

Stevie Hammell, Brian Kerr, Paul Quinn and David Partridge were all left out of the side on Wednesday to protect small injuries and if there is any doubt to their fitness, they will not feature. The right midfield spot is the one area of the team which looks shaky and Terry Butcher may well use this opportunity to test out yet another player in that position.

So far we have looked comfortable in our games without being spectacular. Another stroll to victory is expected on Saturday and there’s no reason why we shouldn’t record a 2-0 triumph.
