Inverness v Motherwell postponed again

While everyone will be frustrated at the enforced winter break, the prospect of a return journey to Inverness from the central belt in the current conditions was not welcome. At least we can be grateful that the inspection took place well in advance of the game to give fans time to cancel arrangements. We'll have to hope for a thaw over the next week.

The news from Rugby Park must raise concerns about Saturday's SPL fixture. Motherwell are now hoping to play their first game of 2010 at Kilmarnock and to end the dismal run of five consecutive defeats. Killie's pitch is fine but the surrounding area is still treacherous and as a result police advice was that Tuesday's cup game against Falkirk be postponed. Motherwell hope to face the winners of that tie in the next round!

So it'll be back to the indoor training areas for Craig Brown, Archie Knox and the squad as they try to maintain fitness and focus for a possible game at the weekend. Maybe a snowball fight or cross country skiing will be on the agenda?
