He faces the dilemma of whether or not to change things now or hope that the team regains form. One change that will be enforced is on the right hand side of midfield. Kevin McBride picked up an injury on Saturday and this may open up a chance for either Sean Fagan or Jim Paterson to come back into the side.

Time for a recall?
The dilemma extends to other areas of the team as well. The defence has been somewhat shaky since the return of David Partridge and Butcher must surely be thinking of a return to either the four who did so well at the start of the season, or the four who finished last season. David Cowan is also fit and provides another option.

Up front, David Clarkson has managed two goals this season despite starting every game. This would not be concerning if he was still contributing but his general play has been disappointing and his confidence appears to be rock bottom. A rest and/or a spell in the reserves might do him good.

So, Terry appears to have the wait of the world on his shoulders going into this match. We have a really hard game coming up this Saturday so it is vital that we pick up at least one point, preferably three. We can take heart from the unfortunate news that Killie will be without top scorer Kris Boyd and they themselves will be looking to bounce bank after a poor result at the weekend. We could use a win on Wednesday and we’ll get it…2-1 ‘Well.
