Morton Await in the CIS Cup

Update: Morton have confirmed the game is not all ticket and prices are £14 (£7) for the Main Stand and £12 (£6) for terracing

Those who are of a superstitious nature will take comfort from that most recent visit although many others will point out that our record in the CIS cup is nothing short of woeful.

The clubs have confirmed that the game will take place at 7.30pm on Tuesday 24 August. The game will be ‘pay at the gate’. Morton ended Gretna’s with a late winner on Tuesday and their reward is a tie with the Mighty ‘Well.

Beaten at Forfar!
Our campaigns in the CIS cup don’t last long as a rule. Witness the defeat at Forfar last season (match report here), the exit at Pittodrie in season 2002/3 (match report here) or the embarrassment of a defeat at Airdrie (match report here) in 2001/2.

The clubs have played in one hundred and twenty two league matches and we have been successful in sixty two.

Morton have no former ‘Well players in their squad list so there will be no repeat of a modern day Johnny Gahagan scoring against us this time!
