Motherwell and Celtic agree Turnbull deal

Motherwell and Celtic have agreed terms on the transfer of David Turnbull.  All that remains is for the midfielder to agree personal terms with the Parkhead club.

We knew it would happen but the loss will be felt by all 'Well fans who had the pleasure of watching our academy graduate develop into a fine footballer.

The MFC website reports that "several seven figure bids were rejected" and that "the fee we stand to receive fully maximises his potential value".

The boost to our finances will place our fan owned club in a comfortable place.  There will be a few smiles on show at the Well Society AGM later this month.

Since his first league goal thundered into the net against St Mirren last Halloween Turnbull has gone from strength to strength.  Sixteen goals for the season tells only half the story.  His command on the ball brought a calmess to our play and was a major part of our good performances in the first half of 2019.

He goes with our best wishes.  The only regret is that the next time we see him at Fir Park he will be on the wrong team.
