Motherwell drawn with Hamilton in the Scottish Cup

Last updated : 20 November 2017 By Firparkcorner

Motherwell have a home tie with Hamilton in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.

We last played Accies in the cup twenty years ago when a 1-1 draw at Fir Park was followed by a 2-0 win in the replay thanks to a brace from Owen Coyle.

While the initial stage of the Scottish Cup brings its own interest Motherwell are in the unusual (and welcome) position of giving greater consideration to the upcoming final of the League Cup.

The fourth round ties will be played on the weekend of 20 January 2018 as the winter break comes to an end.

Last year we were presented with a trip to Ibrox and contrived to lose despite leading with six minutes remaining.  Let's hope for better this time.
