The club has released details of the first wave of changes to the playing squad. Eight of the first team say farewell while talks with Ainsworth, Griffiths and Lasley continue.
On the departure board are Samson, Chalmers, Lucas, Jules, Moore, Ferguson, Pearson and McDonald. All have come to the natural end of their contracts though McDonald indicated that he would not enforce his option of a one year extension.
In addition Mackin, Fry and Pettigrew will leave the U20s.
We are in talks with Ainsworth, Lasley and Griffiths and with Maguire, Falconer, Gordon, Morrison and Livingstone from the U20s about possible extensions.
The news came with thanks to those leaving for their service and we wish them well in their future careers. No mention was made of the status of McFadden.
We now have 13 senior players on the books and the club expects to name some new arrivals soon, “it’s a big job”.
