New defender for Motherwell?

Our defensive problem in defending high balls from set pieces has been well recorded as has the manager's wish to find a player to bolster the back line. He tells us that there is no point in making a signing that doesn't improve on the current squad. Time will tell.

Lee is a 25 year old defender. He joined Lincoln City early in 2005 and had representative honours at Welsh U21 level. He can play anywhere in the back line though there seems to be some debate whether his best position is in the centre or at right back. He is 6' 2" tall and has been described by Lincoln fans as a "tough, no nonsense defender".

He has over 150 appearances for the League Two side and won their fans Player of the Year award in 2006/7. His form for the first half of the season was impressive but it is said that since he declined to accept a fresh contract in December his contribution has weakened.

We'll welcome him to Motherwell (if he comes) and hope that he becomes a fans' favourite in the years ahead.
