Next up - Dundee

Home at last!  After four on the road Motherwell return to Fir Park on Saturday to face Dundee.  Can Santa deliver an early present?

C:WindowsTempphpDFBA.tmp‘Well fans will dust off their season books and settle into familiar seats as their favourites try to recover from a bruising month.  Following a terrific run through autumn the Steelmen have slumped.  One win from the last eight league fixtures is relegation form but three points against the Dark Blues will stop the rot.

There were mitigating circumstances for the dip.  Injuries to Moult, Cadden, Hartley, Frear and Carson have weakened the side but there is optimistic news from the manager.  He expects four of the five to be available this weekend.

A return to the defensive setup that served so well will offer a steady base for the team to build forward momentum.  The makeshift side on show at Rugby Park created more goal scoring chances than the opposition despite the loss and that suggests that we are not without hope without Moult.

Dundee have enjoyed a bit of a revival in recent weeks with three wins and two losses.  There move up the table has them in tenth place,  five pointsadrift of us.

Of particular interest to the home crowd will be O’Hara.  Reports have suggested that we are considering an approach for the 22 year old but McCann is keen to keep him at Dens.  He has found the net four times in his last five games.  Moussa scored a couple from the spot against Partick Thistle last Saturday.

Dundee are gaining a reputation for playing out from the back.  The long ball style is not something McCann encourages.  No doubt Robinson will have a cunning plan to counter their threat.

With home advantage we will hope to build on our meeting at Dundee in October with another 1-0  win.

Remember the last time Dundee were at Fir Park?
