Preview: St Mirren (a)

The usual debate of whether a win in the league or League Cup is preferable has been occupying the Motherwell fans recently but no doubt the players and management will be focussing on two victories. Certainly there is no reason to think we are not capable of a win on Saturday but St Mirren are in good form having won the last two and, perhaps significantly, have also bagged five goals in this time.

Gannon seems to have settled on playing Jutkiewicz as the lone striker but it does not yet seem certain he, combined with an attacking midfield, will score enough to make this viable. Jim O'Brien will presumably be fully fit to add another creative option but Slane will be out until December.

Smile please!

There is also a potential change at the back as Hutchison is regaining fitness but juggling a back four which just kept a clean sheet at Parkhead is a bold move indeed.

St Mirren will be without Camara and Robb once more while Craig Dargo has been ruled out with a shoulder injury.

We have struggled against St Mirren since the Buddies returned to the SPL but we have won against them occasionally including on our last visit to Greenhill Road. This looks like being another tight encounter but we may manage to sneak it 1-0.
