Quoting a club spokesman, the Paisley Daily Express says, "St Mirren have played all of their home matches at St Mirren Park since 1894 but, on Saturday, January 3, 2009, they will play their last ever league match at the old stadium.

"This game has been marked on the calendar of most St Mirren fans since the fixtures were announced during the summer and its importance has gained more and more significance as the date has drawn closer.

"We at St Mirren Football Club would like to give our fans - and fans of other clubs - a further incentive to being part of this piece of Scottish football history by setting ticket prices at a lower rate than usual."

The saving (around £6 for adults) will be welcomed by both sets of fans and the away stand is likely to have a healthy attendance for the holiday fixture.
