Motherwell fans who found their weekend disrupted by the postponement of the game in Inverurie will at least have the interest of Sunday's fifth round draw to offer a diversion from the horror of a football free Saturday.

The draw will take place at Easter Road after the Hibs v Hearts tie and the lunchtime kick off time would suggest that the balls will enter the vase shortly after 2pm. Pat Stanton and Kenny MacAskill will make the draw and it will be live on $ky and on Radio Scotland.

Without dismissing the hurdle that the Locos will provide there is little reason for us not to anticipate the draw with the same tingle which precedes every round of the cup. Will we have another exotic away trip? Will be have a tough tie at Fir Park? Can do better than last season's poor exit at the hands of Dundee?

The SFA caused some confusion about the date of our rescheduled fourth round tie. They circulated an information sheet twice this week stating that any rearranged game would be on Tuesday 20 January. No doubt there were a few red faces when it was realised that our SPL game the previous weekend was to take place on the Sunday at Tannadice. The game was then switched to Wednesday 21 January with a 7.45pm kick off.

Sunday's draw might see us on the way to Hampden on Saturday 30 May.
