'Well Shirts Wanted

He'll have a few old shirts....
This time of year sees football clubs all over the UK launching new strips. In the case of Motherwell, two new shirts will make an appearance in the club shop in the next few months. Five Live have come up with an interesting scheme to make good use of the old ones.

Fans are encouraged to send their old (washed!) shirt to Locker Freight Ltd, Haleview Road, Huyton, Liverpool, L36 6DD where they are bundled and sent to South Africa, Kenya and possibly Nigeria then distributed to folk for whom food is normally the top priority on the shopping list.

Last year over 25 000 shirts were distributed. All sizes are needed. What about that one you bought a few years back? Or the one which an expanding waistline has forced to a bottom drawer? This year’s appeal lasts until the middle of July so why not dig out that old top and spread some Claret and Amber cheer?

More details are available on
the Five Live site.
