Mike's Moan: Do We Have Anything To Moan About?

Last updated : 08 November 2007 By Firparkcorner

The answer is predominantly no. We are still playing attractive, attacking football and almost every player in the team is looking good. We had chances against Celtic and Rangers, and on Saturday it would not have been unjust if we were 3-0 up by the time the Buddies got their equaliser.

Our main problem is scoring goals. As we know, we need at least two as the team is incapable of keeping a clean sheet. The defence is not playing badly and the number of goals we have conceded isn't shocking but our inability to defend set pieces is a big worry. There isn't a quick-fix to this, so I say we keep attacking as surely the ball will start falling to a 'Well player in the box eventually.

Next up is Inverness, a happy hunting ground for us in recent years. McGhee has to keep the same team as last Saturday as it is definitely good enough to come away with all three points. Inverness are a big side with the likes of Tokely, Bayne and Munro in their squad - so more than likely we will need more than one goal to win.

Let's hope Rossco has his shooting boots on (it doesn't have to be spectacular every time) and that Clarkson and Porter can continue their good play from last week. Uncle Phil should be getting fitter and fitter with every game and McGarry is due a goal.

That leaves Keith Lasley, in my opinion our best midfielder. It only worries me that McGhee doesn't share this view as he keeps on replacing him when it is clear to see that others are very tired. When Hughes isn't playing we need Las on the park for ninety minutes as we look weak when he goes off.

Hopefully the manager will see this and stop making changes for changes sake - in my opinion the only subs that we can afford to make are Mensing for Phil or Grabban or Smith for Rossco, Clarkie or McGarry - as the rest of the team is vital to the way we play.

Roll on Saturday and a 1-2 away victory.

(A whole rant and I didn't mention Fitz once - I only pray he isn't playing on Sat)
