Mike's Moan: Too Much Doom and Gloom

Last updated : 18 March 2008 By Mike

We have looked rusty in the last few games, but have been by no means disgraced. We were poor at home to Hearts, but were still unlucky to lose the game. Falkirk away was a tough match with a point a good result going by our previous games against the Bairns this season. And in the defeat to Hibs, although not good, we looked more promising than previous games and just needed a break to go our way. (Definite pen on Rossco)

Saturday's game at Tannidice is vital and should hold no fears for us. Yes, Dundee United looked good in their CIS Cup final defeat but we are also a good team and thrashed them last time out (but this was overshadowed by other events.) If we can get our big players playing again, ie Hughes, Porter, Rossco and Clarkie, and get Lasley reinstated into the centre of midfield, there is no earthly reason why we can't go out and get three points on Saturday.

If we do this then suddenly everyone's mood changes and we are back to believing we can win every match again. All 'Well fans need to get 100% behind the team on Saturday and not moan and groan about a misplaced pass or a shot over the bar. We need to encourage them and believe in them, as surely our luck is about to change.

Even if the worst happens and we lost to United, our season is not over, so let's ignore the doom and gloom merchants and be proud of our team. I for one have already dusted down my passport and I am not putting it away in the drawer just yet as the season will have a few more twists and turns to come.
