THW actually made a good start to the match and a couple of half chances were fired wide from distance. FPC soon began to dominate though and it was no surprise when they took the lead. Dave’s cut back was right into the path of Scott Mullen who launched an unstoppable shot in the far corner. Craig P doubled the lead before Scott got his second, flicking in a headed knock down to make it 3-0.
Mark had a free header at corner to make it 4-0, Moysie scrambled in the fifth and a tremendous solo effort from Mark made it 6-0 at half time.
Number seven came when Moonie poked in Topper’s cross. Moonie got another one from a nice solo effort, Dave Hendry squeezed one through the goalie’s legs and two nice finishes from Farmer completed the FPC scoring. THW got one back when Moysie was deceived by a sudden shot from outside the box and it took some great defending from FPC to deny THW further goals.
Throughout the game THW goalie made a string of wonderful saves which stopped the scoreline growing even further and made him the only choice for man of the match. Sadly after an enjoyable start to the day, we then proceeded to Firhill for the afternoon’s debacle. If only we had all gone home after the morning game!
