The home side got off to the better start as the Corner struggled to clear their lines during the opening exchanges. However, a moment of magic on the edge of the home penalty box found Ross Clark clear of the last defender, from where he dispatched an excellent finish into the postage stamp corner of the net. His first goal in his two years with the team was met with an uproar from the sidelines.

He had an excellent chance to double his sides lead shortly afterwards but amazingly managed to put the ball wide with the goal at his mercy. FPC were punished for his miss ten minutes later as a PSJ striker broke through from the left hand side to fire into the corner of the net from a tight angle.

This gave the home side a lift and they went on to have the better of the first half but right on the whistle, Joseph Lynas was chopped down in the box while trying to make space for a shot. Captain Gavin Hepworth stepped up to coolly slot the penalty past the helpless goalkeeper to give the visitors a scarcely deserved half time lead.

The manager opted to introduce Maguire, Miller, Hendry, Boyd and Lang for a new-look second half side and the changes clearly had the desired effect as Ross Galloway sealed a Man of the Match performance with a well-taken goal after being sent clean through on the goalkeeper.

From then, there was only ever going to be one winner, and the Corner were unlucky not to increase their lead as Lynas went close and Clark missed another sitter, but the tie was won and the players will be more than happy to be in the last four.
