FirParkCorner FC v Next Hamilton - Preview

Last updated : 08 September 2005 By Firparkcorner

Next’s Hamilton branch supply the opposition for the team’s fifth match of the season but to extend the unbeaten run to nine games they’ll have to do it without manager David Fraser who is taking the opportunity to recharge his batteries after a whirlwind first year in the hotseat.

Scott Mullen returns...
The last 12 months have certainly been eventful for the IFA League side that came just hours from disbanding early last season. Pather man Fraser has been pivotal in the transformation from no hopers to league leaders. However, it has taken time to change the side’s fortunes. Fraser’s first win took five months but since then form has improved dramatically culminating in a fantastic showing at the WorldNet tournament in Leeds which saw Motherwell’s representatives reach the quarter finals. Last weekend saw the team pick up its first silverwear by winning the Scottish Supporters Masters tournament.

‘Absolute nightmare’ and fortieth choice left back Philip Speedie assumes control for this friendly match and will preside over a large squad which includes eight of the nine players who triumphed in Falkirk, this means Graeme Farmer will return in goals after missing out against the Harry Wraggs. He’ll be joined by Dave Hendry should also make the starting line up after his absence. Scott Mullen will also get his first action of the season.

Defender Graeme Ramage is unavailable while midfield man Darryn Alexander has been banned by manager Fraser after allegations that his goal celebrations against PTFC.net were woefully short of the standard he expects. Ross Mitchell (liver and kidneys) and Chris Miller (ankle) both face late fitness tests.
