FPC saw off Airdrie in a match punctuated by a series of fine individual goals. The first was an excellent long range effort from midfield, captain MacKenzie rifling home a shot low into the left corner from 25 yards after beating two players.

He then turned provider on 22 minutes, slotting a neat reverse pass into the path of Tonner, who met the ball ahead of the keeper to fire an angled drive home at the near post. Less than a minute after the restart it was three nil; Scott Anderson received the ball on the left, from where he cut in past two defenders, and let loose a fierce volley which looped up and dropped just under the bar from the edge of the box.

Right on half time Hendrie fed striker Brazil in the right channel. He drew two defenders before squaring the ball across the box perfectly for Tonner to finish with his left foot from close range. The second half saw more pressure from FPC, but a number of chances spurned, and they relinquished the clean sheet when a gap was exploited in the full back area, and the square ball was fired into the corner by the Airdrie striker despite stand-in keeper Clark getting a strong hand to it.

Fox finished off the scoring in style when Watson laid the ball back to him wide on the right flank, and his back post cross dropped over everyone and nestled in the far corner.
