TFC Dynamo 3 FirParkCorner FC 3

The teams had met once before with the Lanarkshire side running out 3-0 winners. This time they welcomed back reliable defender Ross Mitchell who had been out.. injured since the end of April.

Another pair for Davie
FirParkCorner made the better start and took the lead when a corner from the left was nodded home by Davie Tonner high into the opposition net. The side from Maryhill were soon on level terms when a forward cut inside past Ross Cunningham and slotted the ball under the on-rushing Graeme Farmer. The home side took a hold of the game at this point and they took the lead when a Dynamo forward converted a lob over the Corner defence despite Graeme Farmer touching his first effort onto the post. FPC went into the interval a goal down.

Manager David Fraser introduced Barry Lynas and Drew Cunningham into the side at half time, however Dynamo extended their lead with a stunning strike. The forward struck the ball from 25 yards into the top corner leaving Graeme Farmer with no chance. They almost wrapped the game up 5 minutes later when the Corner goalkeeper brilliantly saved a strike from a Dynamo player.

FPC FC got a foot back into the game when a through ball from the Corner midfield was knocked into the net by Ross Clark. The game was soon level when Davie Tonner lobbed the ball over the Dynamo goalkeeper. The Corner almost took the lead but a great save from the Dynamo goalkeeper prevented Tonner from collecting his hat trick. Ross Galloway might have given the Motherwell side a win but his strike as the full time whistle sounded flew by the goalkeeper's left hand post.

It was a good work out on a warm day in Glasgow and it provided good preparation for next week's final match of the season against Raith Rovers. This game could hand FirParkCorner the league title if Hearts slip up in their final game.
