Motherwell will have
to wait until 18 February for the cup tie with Aberdeen following the early
postponement of the Saturday evening game.
The sodden Pittodrie
pitch has not recovered from the recent deluge and an inspection thirty hours
before the scheduled kick-off time produced the dreaded ‘game off’ message.
Motherwell recognised the timing of the decision and posted on the MFC website “Whilst we remain disappointed at the match not taking place tomorrow night, we appreciate the transparency and proactiveness of all parties during this process.”

The tie has been rescheduled
for a 7.45pm start on Wednesday 18 February and all tickets will be valid. Refunds are available for those unable to
attend.
The draw for the
quarter final will take place on Sunday after the Stenhousemuir v Falkirk tie
in the evening.
This postponement is
the second involving Motherwell this week as Wednesday’s league game at Dens
Park also fell foul to the weather. No
date for that game has been announced.
Next up for Motherwell is a visit from Rangers on Wednesday.
