Persistent heavy rain
has delivered an unplayable surface at Dens Park and tonight’s game has been
postponed.
A 2.30pm inspection was requested by Dundee earlier today and given that the forecast suggested that the wet conditions would continue the outcome, after a long delay, was not a surprise. Tannadice had passed an inspection at the weekend but Dens succumbed to the deluge.
It remains to be seen
whether the cancellation of the midweek fixture will benefit the teams in their
upcoming cup ties. Motherwell face
Aberdeen while Dundee take on Celtic. As
it happens those opponents face each other in Aberdeen tonight (if Pittodrie
passes a 4pm inspection). Both
management teams will be keen observers.
‘Well fans are now relieved of the need to make to long journeys in the space of four days. No details of the date for the rearranged game are available.
