The New Zealander spent the last month at the World Cup. The recommendation of Eli Just seems to have played its part. "I’ve been able to speak to Elijah [Just] about the club, and everything he has said has got me excited about what’s to come."
He is 24 years old and signed a lucrative four year deal with the Premier League club in June 2024. They sent him on loan to Lechia Gdansk last season and he was their regular guardian.

Alfred Johansson has move quickly to replace Calum Ward and it seems that Paulsen shares the same skill set. Playing out from the back is Motherwell's style and he should find integration into the team straightforward. He tops 6 feet in height.
He becomes the third addition to the Fir Park dressing room and joins defender Martin Moormann and forward Wily Vogts as Johansson shapes his squad. The manager added ,"We see Alex as a very similar type of goalkeeper in terms of his strengths."
