Motherwell take the road to Dundee on Wednesday eager to strengthen the
healthy hold on fourth place.
Dundee had three league wins in a row at the turn of the year but since
then three outings brought them just the one point and they currently sit in
ninth place, twenty points behind the Mighty ‘Well.
They were shot shy against St
Mirren’s ten men at the weekend in a goalless afternoon in Paisley.

Steven Pressley followed that game with a plea for a centre back and a
forward as the closure of the transfer window loomed. Defenders Clark Robertson and Billy Koumetio
and strikers Joe Westley and Ashley Hay were absent due to injury.
The Dark Blues have averaged under a goal a game this season and none of
their players have reached three league strikes.
If Motherwell can take three points under the Dens Park floodlights it
will stand them in good stead for the upcoming cup tie at Pittodrie.
Fevered speculation about the possible transfer of Tawanda Maswanhise
continues but (fingers crossed) the Motherwell board will back the manager’s
view that his value will increase and that the summer window may be the time to
sell.
There was only one starting change ahead of the game in Livingston but
the usual rotation of players may recommence at Dens. Eythor Bjorgolfsson was given more game time
and he will have another chance to impress on Wednesday.
Once again the bookies have Motherwell as odds on favourites for an away
win and another 0-2 result will justify their decision.
