Motherwell face
a third consecutive away fixture on Saturday with a trip to Falkirk.
This match
offers the Steelmen a chance to rebalance, in part, the season’s share of the
points between the teams. The Bairns
have the rare distinction of taking six points from the Fir Park meetings while
the December encounter at the Falkirk Stadium ended goalless.
John
McGlynn’s charges have had their momentum reduced in recent weeks with three
losses, a draw and one win (against Motherwell) to hold them on sixth
place. Add to that a Scottish Cup loss
to Dunfermline and it can be seen that they have had a dip in form.

Missing
from their last game were Filip Lissah, Liam Henderson and Scott Bain and we
await news of this week’s injury bulletin.
Their star striker has been nominated for the PFA Young Player of the
Year award. It’s no surprise to see
Barney Stewart recognised for his goal scoring exploits and he is one the ‘Well
defence will have to monitor.
Motherwell
had a dip in form similar to Saturday’s opponents but the much lauded group of players
got their reward at Ibrox last weekend.
The triumph will re-affirm their belief in the bold style that has
delivered so much success. Five of their
number featured in the PFA’s team of the season – some will argue more deserved
to be included.
Jens Berthel Askou has almost a full squad available but there will be at most minor tinkering of the starting eleven. Dan McFarlane has been appointed to referee the match.
The home
side will have the usual advantage that comes with familiarity to the
artificial surface but if Askou’s men can come close to their best then the
away fans will have another happy homeward trip after a 2-1 win.
