Motherwell travel to Ibrox on Sunday hoping to end an unprofitable five
game run.
This round of fixtures sees the league split to allow the top and bottom
halves enjoy some meaningful competition as the season draws to a close. The fixture list presented the Steelmen with
a tough final stretch as games against Celtic, Hibs, Falkirk and Hearts came immediately
ahead of these last five.
This fourth meeting with Rangers offers Motherwell a chance to balance the books with the Govan side. The earlier two 1-1 draws and a 1-0 loss demonstrate that there is little to separate the sides.

Rangers have recovered from some early season wobbles and now offer
formidable opposition. They have
suffered only one home league loss and scored fourteen goals in their last
three outings.
Yet Motherwell will face the packed stands with confidence and
self-belief. They have faith in the
system that has kept them in the upper reaches of the table for most of the
season. At the August meeting between
the teams under the Fir Park sunshine Jens Berthel Askou’s promise of a
refreshing attacking style became a reality as they outplayed the much fancied
visitors.
In a rare show of selection consistency the manager fielded an unchanged
eleven in the Steelmen’s last outing.
Three in a row is unlikely although we can expect the league top scorer
to lead the line. If he is to keep that
place Tawanda Maswanhise will be looking to score on his first appearance at
Ibrox.
Kevin Clancy will be in charge of this match between second and
fourth. He could oversee a third draw
between the pair after another 1-1.
