Motherwell
entertain Rangers at Fir Park on Wednesday after an unexpected ten day break.
The postponements
at Dens Park and Pittodrie will lead to some fixture congestion in the coming
weeks but the Steelmen should be fresh and eager for the midweek action.
Good form
and attractive play have been the keynotes of Jens Berthel Askou’s time at Fir
Park and (fingers crossed) there is no hint of an interruption as the last third
of the season draws near.
The winter
transfer window came with minimal change.
Eythor Bjorgolfsson arrived to add some height and strength to the attack
and his brief appearances give encouragement.

There was
only one change to Motherwell’s starting eleven when they took to Almondvale
ahead of a 3-0 win but the manager rarely chooses to stick. Stephen Welsh is now back in the fold and he will
be keen to resume his place in central defence.
Rangers
have steadied their shaky ship since the last visit to Fir Park. Emmanuel Longelo produced a late equaliser in
that early August season opener. Since
then there have been many changes at Ibrox including the arrival of Danny Rohl
in the hot seat.
A good run
of results save a draw at Easter Road and a loss to Porto has them in second
place. They have scored for fun with thirteen
in the last week but on Wednesday they face the defence that has the lowest
concession rate in the league.
This clash of fourth v second will be a tough
test for both teams but it may end in a thrilling stalemate, 2-2.
