Motherwell
host Dundee United at Fir Park on Wednesday evening with goals likely. The pair scored seven at the weekend.
Alfred
Johansson has navigated his refreshed squad through a taxing early season
period with some success given the burden of European travel and a sizeable
injury list. His troops exceeded their
seeding position in the Conference League and remain unbeaten in the
Premiership.
With a growing and enthusiastic ‘Well support there is an optimistic outlook around the club that should give Wednesday’s starting eleven a confidence boost.

Well taken
goals from Tawanda Maswanhise, Regan Charles-Cook and debutant Jardell Kanga
earned a draw in Paisley at the weekend in a thriller that raged from end to
end. The spectacular defensive collapse
that saw the loss of three in the last ten minutes before the break will no
doubt feature in the manager’s preparations for the United game.
After an
opening day draw with Rangers Jim Goodwin had to suffer heavy losses; two in
the league and one in the League Cup. They
failed to score in those three outings but turned that around in spectacular
fashion on Saturday with a 4-0 triumph at Rugby Park.
Goodwin
missed seeing four different scorers (the best coming from Will Ferry) and it
is not clear whether he will be in the away dugout midweek. Lee Sharp oversaw their first league win.
A home win
is favoured by the bookies and there is no need to doubt their analysis. There could be a night of joy following a 3-1
win.
