No.4 Stevie "The White Brazilian" Kirk

Scorer of spectacular goals, hands so safe they were patented by the Bank of Scotland, hero of many of Motherwell fan, Stevie Kirk was surely one of the oll time legends at Fir Park.  Always unpredictable, Kirkie remains dear to many of our hearts.

Who could ever forget Kirkie’s extra-time winner in THE Cup Final, the chip in the Semi over Celtic, his pile driver versus Aberdeen, the fact he’s the Club’s all-time European record goal scorer (not a hard thing to be but let’s face it, he holds the record), his extreme dislike of a certain Govan-based overweight “Keeper” (dear to our hearts?!!).  Then the day which really endeared him to us by inspiring the ‘Well to recover from a 0-2 deficit at Tynecastle, taking over in goals and saving a penalty near half-time, we drew level at 2-2 and almost won the match.

And those free-kicks!  Kirkie’s left foot was the model for the Predator boot.  The White Brazilian is a hero for the modern day footie fan.

So liked was Kirkie that when he scored a late leveller for Falkirk upon his return to Fir Park some of the ‘Well fans were seen to applaud his ingenuity.  One of the most popular players never to receive a Testimonial due to leaving before his ten years were up, Kirkie will always be remembered for his one liner whilst being interviewed on the Hampden Pitch after scoring the winner “Ya Beezer”
