Find players on the net

Football teams are never perfect. Managers are constantly searching for new players to come into the side or just be squad members. Our own Alex McLeish is frantically searching for a striker and Jim Hamilton of Dundee was at the centre of recent rumours. But would Alex decide that Hamilton was the possible man for us?

"That's obvious", you all chorus, he sends a scout or even better goes and watches the target play in a game. Ah, but how does he know who's scoring goals? "He looks at the paper" you reply with a touch of annoyance creeping into your voices. Okay so he can look at the paper, but there is a new trendy, cool, sort of surfing way to find players. Yes! It's finally happened. Now you can buy players over the internet. An Italian football agent has set up a web site to help transfers, and there isn‘t even a sniff of a cigar smoking "monster, monster" about it!

If you go to the English page you'll find news pages, rules for FIFA agents, links to other football pages and some other stuff. Most interesting of all though is the transfer section. There are links to lists of out of contract players as well as lists for individual positions. I wonder if Alex has been here yet? Clubs can also advertise for particular players. An advert from us could read : Blindingly good striker required. Strong and quick. An agent could decide that his client fits the bill and start email negotiations.

Having looked at all the strikers on the page, I decided that Hitters Pablo is the man for us. He is nearly two metres tall and a very fast runner. So far he has scored 22 goals for his club and he could be fairly cheap. If Alex manages to buy this possible superstar I expect my agent's fee in the post!
