Pick a Team or Seven

Having supported the 'Well for 35 yrs the changes we have all witnessed over the last 10 months have been nothing short of miraculous. During the course of a season we usually, free a few, sell 1 or 2, sign 2 or 3 players, but between May, and before the season started we

Freed a Team

1. Scott Thomson (Hull)

2. David McCallum (Stirling) 3. Shaun McSkimming (Dundee)

4.Eric Garcin (Dundee) 5. Brian Martin (Stirling) 6.John Philliben (Stirling)

7. Stephen Linquvist 11. John Hendry (?)

8. Dougie Arnott (Retired) 10. Willie Falconer(Dundee)

9. Tommy Coyne (Dundee)

Subs: G. Gow, M. Lungdren, D. Bell

B Retained a Team

Stevie Woods

Kevin Christie 3. Stephen McMillan

4. Simo Valakari 5. Greig Denham 6. Stephen Craigan

7. Eliphas Shivute 8. Eddie May 9.Owen Coyle 10. Billy Davies 11. Ian Ross

Subs, Mickey Weir, Lee McCulloch

C Signed a Team

1. M. Kaven
2. M. Doesburg 3. J. Stirling
4. J. McGowan 5. H. Kraska 6. D. White
7. R. Matthaei 8. J. Michels 9. S. Halliday 10. B. McClair 11. G. Miller

Then during the pre-season friendlies Kampman realised that some of his signings were crap (Kraska, White?!?!?) so more new players were require - Teale, Nyssonen, Adams. The revolution continues, Chapman and Dickie (nice men) kept the Well solvent - Many, Many thanks, but they lacked ambition e.g. Tom Tom's resignation (could we have won the League, will the story ever be told?) John Boy takes over, Kampman is out, Wee Billy enters - so another new team has to be signed.

D Billy's Boys (most of them)

1. Goram

2. Thomas 3. Gower

4. Brannan 5. Teale 6. Nyssonen

7. Nevin 8. Banqve 9. Adams 10. Spencer 11. Nicholas

Sub: Goodman

OK so some players are out of position but it is amazing and probably more to arrive, and certainly many more to leave. Being a 'Well fan these days is certainly exciting!

The 3 Team Season

When young Steve Nicholas ran out onto the park v Aberdeen he became the 33rdplayer used by 'Well this season (League Cup, League, Scottish Cup), some like Denham, Davies only played against Ayr. Some, Ramsay, Banqve, Shivute only made substitute appearances.

So which would be the first choice 11, the third choice 11. Here are my selections. Let the arguments begin and the Goodman signing will hopefully force changes to the first 11.
First Team

1. Goram

2. Doesburg 3. McMillan
