A decisive day in Inverness?

Last updated : 31 March 2016 By Firparkcorner

The contrast in the teams’ fortunes in recent weeks has been startling.  While Motherwell have enjoyed an upturn with five wins in the last six, Inverness have plunged the depths with only one win in their last eight.  Despite that the bookies have installed the home team as clear favourites.  Is there a killing to be made?

On the opening day of the season Fletcher’s early goal gave Ian Baraclough’s team a winning start but in the two subsequent meetings John Hughes got the better of Mark McGhee in league and cup at Fir Park.

The Bois belt it out

The home side will have to do without Tansey as he serves a suspension but there are others who can offer a goal scoring threat.  Polworth, Draper and Storey all hit the net before the international break in Dingwall as their long run without a win was ended.

We will miss the services of Pearson but the long interval since the Aberdeen game delivered time for others to recover from the knocks, bumps and ‘flu that forced changes.  It is likely that a more familiar staring eleven will be handed the job.

Inverness trail us by five points but they have a game in hand.  Their chance of moving up to the top half would suffer a huge blow if they fail to take three points.  It may be that opportunities for counter attack may come our way and there may be a few goals to entertain.

Let’s go for the form team – 2-1 for the ‘Well.
