Aberdeen Preview

The Dons are one place and six points ahead of us in the table and a win will half the gap. We lost the last encounter at Pittodrie to a Severin goal in the last minute. There will have to be a substantial improvement over October’s performance if we are to be successful.

Skippy's back!

While O’Donnell remains sidelined we can look forward to the return of Clarkson from suspension, Hammell after his hamstring injury and with any luck Leitch will have recovered from a chest infection.

Terry Butcher will have an interesting selection problem. For the first time in weeks McDonald, Clarkson, Foran and Paterson will be competing for places. Surely we must be good for a couple of goals from that group? Corr will stay between the sticks and though he conceded four at Ibrox last week he managed several fine saves.

Our opponents also have problems in the goalkeeping department. Preece has been replaced by Esson in the last couple of outings. Old ‘Well boys Adams and Craig have not started in weeks and given our history with ex-players it may a good thing if they fail to appear.

Manager Calderwood has effected a huge transformation in Aberdeen’s fortunes since he took control and his record against us, no matter the club, suggests that a hard fight lies ahead. However, the chance of Clarkson, McDonald and Foran not managing to find the net is unlikely and with home advantage we should pull through. 2-1 to the Mighty ‘Well.
