Aberdeen Preview

This will probably not be a pretty game but that can only be expected given what is at stake. Ourselves and Dundee United have moved to within touching distance of Thistle, Livingston and Aberdeen. Aberdeen have been on a bad run and will be aware that losing on Saturday could have them joint bottom of the table.

Corrigan in midfield?
We are on a reasonable run of form though and confidence will be high in the dressing room. We are unbeaten at Fir Park since November and have only lost one out of our last four – and even then, we played well and could easily have won that.

Scott Leitch is still out injured and will need an operation on his knee. Derek Adams misses the last game of his two match ban.

Terry Butcher’s main headache will be deciding whether to stick with last weeks 4-4-2 or revert back to 3-5-2. Corrigan in midfield is not ideal but we might have to stick with it. Keith Lasley made his first start in months at Tynecastle and he performed admirably.

The one thing that does seem certain is that McFadden and Clarkson will start upfront. Dirk Lehmann has not yet returned to form after his injury but Richard Offiong scored two goals during the week for the U21 side and may get a chance from the bench.

Darren Young and Phil McGuire are able to return for the Dons but McNaughton is injured and the suspension of Eric Deloumeaux is a massive bonus.

The team will be cheered on by an extra 1500 kids who will be watching the game for free courtesy of NHS Lanarkshire. This initiative will only increase revenue from programme and catering sales and may even ensure a few return in years to come as paying adults.

Let’s hope the kids – and everyone else – can cheer on a victory. It will be hard work but we’ll get there in the end – 2-1 ‘Well.
