Motherwell’s fifth close season signing was unveiled at Fir Park on Tuesday afternoon.  Andy Rose, a 27 year old midfielder, has agreed a one year deal.

Andy Rose joins Gael Bigirimana, Alex Fisher, Trevor Carson and Craig Tanner as Stephen Robinson’s squad for the new season continues to grow. He has been given the number 15 shirt.

Rose completed an 18 month stint at Coventry this month where he worked with Bigirimana.  After Bristol City’s academy he spent six seasons in the USA and became a regular with the Seattle Sounders in the MLS.

A damaged knee ligament forced an early end to his season in March but his recovery has him eager for a season in the SPFL.

Stephen Robinson, speaking to the MFC official site said

“I’m delighted that we’ve managed to secure the signature of Andy Rose this afternoon, he’s yet another fantastic coup for the club and one of my primary targets.

“Andy not only brings a physical presence to the middle of the park but he brings energy and drive and I’m very encouraged by the squad we’re building here this summer.”

He added: “We’ve also secured the signing of a left-sided defender who has Championship and League One experience and will do pre-season with us before we announce the signing.”
