Anticipation Can Commence!

Well, the answer is yes but not by much. We open with Celtic at home in a game (1230 KO on Setanta) which will no doubt bring up memories of the last time the sides met. Another full house is guaranteed and both sets of fans will anticipate fireworks. That match will be at 12.30pm to be shown on Setanta. Our first away trip is the following week at East End Park – probably still on plastic – before another journey to Kilmarnock.

We drew a blank on last opening day
We finish the pre-split fixtures at Ibrox, an annoying fixture at the best of times, but combine this with our opener against Celtic and it means we meet the Old Firm consecutively twice in the middle of the season. This seems like a cast iron way to break up any momentum we have going and will not be met with favour from many within the Fir Park camp.

Notable dates include a Boxing Day home game against Aberdeen and a New Years Eve fixture away to Livingston. The third round of the Scottish Cup is on January 7th and there is no winter break.

Hopefully our top six place will be confirmed before we go to Ibrox on April 8th! No doubt Setanta will want to move some matches which involve us and the Old Firm but we probably won’t have many other games moved.

So, now you know what games we’re playing, don’t you just wish the season would arrive? Only another three weeks or so till the friendly matches begin!
