Back in the transfer market

It has been announced today that the club will be signing new players before the start of the new season. Needless to say, this news will come as a big relief to 'Well fans. While we do have the very bare bones of a squad in place, it's obvious that our depleted side lacks depth.

We will obviously not be chasing World Cup stars, indeed it has already been made clear that we will be sticking exclusively to the Bosman freebie market. That's not necessarily a bad thing though - there will be an abundance of players available for nothing this summer and most of them will have realised that the boom in wages is over.

The man in the middle of a successful team next year?
Alasdair Barron was speaking to the press about the decision and emphasised that this is a signal that the club is operating on a steady financial footing. Barron also said that we are looking to build a 'strong team for a successful season.'

However, the club's desire to sign players will no doubt infuriate those who were released just five weeks ago. The redundant nine are still threatening action and are hoping that the SPL or SFA will impose transfer restrictions on the club.

The administrator has once again said that there is no closing date for bids to take over the club and that a deadline would be set in a few weeks. Bryan Jackson also dismissed talk of a 'fire sale' saying that we were not looking for offers for any of our players and nobody would be sold for less than their market value.
