Boring, Boring Friendlies...

Are you bored of the close season already? If you're already looking forward to seeing our heroes in action again, you can begin to get psyched up already. Motherwell have announced five pre-season friendlies but they hardly set the pulse racing.

We return to action at Ochilview against Stenhousemuir at 7.30pm on Tuesday 16th July. Later that week, we make our first trip to the Ballast Stadium to take on Hamilton Accies. That's on Friday 19th and is also a 7.30pm KO.

Next up are two home games. New English Premiership arrivals Birmingham City are the one real glamour match in our warm up card. We welcome them on Wednesday 24th at 7.45pm. We then have a Sunday game (the 28th) against Cardiff City.

Birmingham and Cardiff are coming
Our final friendly before the real stuff starts is on Thursday 30th July. We have another trip to Gayfield to take on Arbroath and the kick off is 7.30pm. Presumably the SPL season starts on the 1st of August.

The prices for the games are still to be confirmed but I certainly think the games are disappointing. We play the big team on a Wednesday night and even our weekend home friendly is on a Sunday rather than Saturday. A game in Hamilton is a good idea but surely we could have arranged a nice wee jaunt to England or the North of Scotland? Okay, we're going to Arbroath but after the 'friendly' welcome we got there in the cup a few years ago, is anyone really eager to go back?

Still, at least Motherwell will be playing again...
