Butcher and McFadden have their say

Faddy, who has never played at Hampden, is given top billing in several editions.

Among his thoughts are:-

"Motherwell have still won games when I haven't been playing so we're not just a one-man team."

"I will just try to play my normal game on Saturday but maybe I will get more space against Rangers than I normally do."

“However, I would certainly swap a win over Rangers for staying in the Premier League.”

"But there is no pressure on us on Saturday. If we don't win we won't be regarded as failures."

Terry Butcher suggested that “This is our Cup Final” and once again he praised the team spirit at Fir Park. He said,

"Getting to the semi-finals wasn't in the budget and I don't know what the club would do if we got to the final - a trip to Saltcoats to celebrate perhaps.”

"In the second half against Dundee I thought we showed the spirit of Motherwell, the attitude and the fight and effort.”

"The big 'but' was that we had to come from two goals down. If we show that same commitment and effort from the word go on Saturday I would be delighted.”

"But I don't want us to be two goals down to Rangers. That is the key thing."

No doubt there will be plenty of comment as the game drws closer but we need to hope that most of the talking is done one the pitch. There remain plenty of tickets on sale at Fir Park.
