Celtic - 24h on

After the game Mark McGhee said that he let the players know of his disappointment. "Our performance wasn't good enough to beat what isn't even Celtic's strongest team. I came here today thinking we could win, but I knew we would have to play better than we did. I think there is potential for a 15 or 20 percent improvement in our group of players. I was hoping that even ten percent of that would come through today, but it didn't."

Pre-match formalities

That seems a bit harsh. While we were at full strength we matched Celtic and had we not been reduced to ten the game was still alive. We have seen McGhee take an over-critical line before in an attempt to get a reaction from his players. Maybe he has an eye on the midweek battle with Rangers at Fir Park.

The game on Wednesday will be the first that gives Old Firm fans the chance to take advantage of John Boyle's pricing initiative. On this occasion they can gain entry to
Fir Park for £15. The attendances figures in games when Rangers visited last season were 10,009, 9,283 (CIS Cup) and 10,445. The numbers through the gates will be closely examined to see if the cut has any effect.
