Celtic -- 24h on

One run that was extended was the awful series of defeats at Celtic Park.  It now stretches to 8 with an embarrassing 20-0 aggregate.  There are some who argue that we accept the inevitable defeat too easily and that we are a beaten team as soon as we step off the team bus.  The plea is for a more spirited performance backed by strong self belief that the win is not just possible but demanded.

Others point to the vast gulf in resources between the clubs and accept that our lot is to hope for an occasional and unlikely upset.  Neither theory gives much succour to the few hundred who were in the south east corner of Parkhead but at least we don't have to return there until next season.

McFadden took another big step toward reclaiming the form that helped us so much a year ago.  There were several tricky gems on show, a determination to scrap when needed and he lasted the whole game on the big pitch.  Vigurs is another who seems to be finding form after his indifferent early season form.

If ever there was a game designed to attract both partisan and neutral fans it is Saturday’s game against Aberdeen.  They will bring a big support and it’s to be hoped that we can persuade the good citizens of Lanarkshire to turn out and give the team the backing they deserve.

There should be plenty media coverage to stir up interest but this is a perfect opportunity for the Fir Park regulars to drum up custom.
