Celtic Preview

We are a point behind Dundee United but we only need a draw from this game in hand to move off the bottom of the SPL. That is easier said than done though as Celtic should be totally focused on gaining the victory that keeps the title race wide open.

Happy boy!
However, we have beaten both the Old Firm at Fir Park this season and as such we should have the confidence to go out and play. We will still rely on them playing below their capabilities but we could be due another slice of luck. We will need to cut out silly mistakes and Terry Butcher must do something about the defence.

Stevie Woods played well enough to keep his place in goals but against United the four at the back were very lax. A lot of fans want to bring back Kinniburgh and opinion is divided over changing to three at the back. Either way, something has to be done because Celtic will just carve through us otherwise.

The usual suspects in midfield will be on hand to chase Celtic ankles all night but Celtic will also give our guys the time and space to play. If we can keep the ball we can ease the pressure on our defence and we will be able to find McFadden and Pearson in space. Both of those players are capable of creating chances for us and both will have to play well if we are to be successful.

Celtic will need to push forward as they will view this as not only an opportunity to go level on points with Rangers but to make up goals as well. This will suit our style of playing on the break and we might be able to exploit some gaps.

We will do enough to give Celtic a fright but it’s unlikely that lightning will strike twice.

‘Well 1-3 Celtic.
