Celtic Preview

Injured again?
If ever there is a good time to play Celtic, this could be it. The League is already sewn up and they will be between Barcelona games in the UEFA Cup. It is not beyond the realms of possibility that their minds will be elsewhere.

They also have their share of injury problems to deal with. Balde and Valgaeren missed training on Wednesday whilst Henrik Larsson is the only experienced first team striker available for the Barcelona match. Hartson and Maloney will definitely not play on Sunday and it seems unlikely that Martin O’Neill would risk a half fit Sutton.

Our injury situation does appear to be clearing up. Stevie Craig may miss out after hurting himself in last weeks warm up but David Partridge is in contention after returning to action in the U21s mid-week.

A good defensive performance could frustrate Celtic this weekend when they will undoubtedly be looking for a win with the minimum of exertion. We will make them work for it but we’re going to fall just short again – Celtic 1-0 Motherwell.
