CIS Quarter Final V Aberdeen

Last updated : 24 September 2005 By Firparkcorner

Everyone associated with the club will be delighted at the home draw. All the teams left in the competition are in the SPL and it might be that home advantage could be decisive. We reached the final in last season’s campaign without kicking a ball at Fir Park so we must be content with two homes in three rounds.

The conditions associated with season tickets state that only the first home match in each of the cup competitions qualifies for inclusion so both home and away fans will have to dig into their pockets for this one. We can only hope that the clubs can agree a reduction from the normal tariff for this midweek match. It seems ridiculous that Dons fans who make the effort to attend should be faced with a twenty pound gate charge.

A year ago (November 9 2004 - report) we played a CIS quarter final at Livingston and ran out winners be a handsome margin of 5-0.

No doubt we will settle for winning 5-4 on penalties against Aberdeen this season!

Full draw is :-

Celtic v Rangers

Dunfermline v Hibs

Livingston v ICT

Motherwell v Aberdeen
