Cup tie action for the U18s

In the absence of any U21 action next week Well fans have the chance to see some of the up and coming Fir Park youngsters when they take on Queen’s Park in the third round of the SFA Youth Cup.

Home sweet home

This home game is scheduled for a 7pm kick off and is one of sixteen ties in the round.

The competition started in 1984 and has been won by Celtic (6 wins); Aberdeen, Hearts and Rangers (3 wins), Hibs (2 wins) and by Dundee United and Dunfermline (1 win). It’s time that there were some claret and amber ribbons on this trophy.

The current U18 side has a fine record this season and their last outing resulted in a 2-1 win against Rangers. Many of the names are becoming familiar to regular U21 fans and include Ewings, Bell, Crawley, Neville, Quinn, Higgins, Grant, Barkey, McAndie, Scott, Clarkson and Reilly.

Where better to spend Bonfire Night than at Fir Park giving the youngsters some encouragement.
