But Terry Butcher, delighted at last week’s show against Hearts, will be making sure that the players understand the importance of the game in Dundee. We all know that points against our rivals in the bottom six are invaluable and that a repeat of our record of last year is not acceptable.

Celebrations at Tannadice
So, what are our chances? For once we must fancy taking something from Tannadice. In all probability we will have the starting eleven which has become the norm since Toastie’s injury forced a change. If we can show the same effort and belief then a point should be well within our grasp.

United are reported to have a few injury worries but Ian McCall may be trying to set the mind games going with his midweek comments in the tabloids. Charlie Miller was said to suffer an ankle knock in training but McCall says, ``Charlie is an important player and while his ankle injury is causing a bit of concern I remain optimistic he will make the Motherwell game.''. Aye, right!

Barry Robson, Scott Paterson, Collin Samuel and Jim Paterson also made the list and the Tangerines would have us believe that we will face a team held together with elastoplast. Don’t believe it. We will face a United team desperate to gain their first SPL win.

In the past ‘Well teams have had a habit of being the suckers who have gifted opposition teams the game which has broken their run of poor form. But this could be the time when we show more concern for ourselves rather than our hosts. We have not been involved in a goalless draw for some time – we’ll settle for the point.
